Moscow correspondent

A correspondent covering Russia and the former Soviet Union.

• Broke news from Russian news wires websites and television for media and financial clients around the world in context and with forward-looking analysis.
• Special responsibility for determining Reuters coverage of the North Caucasus liaising with stringers and travel to the region to write reports and analyses.
• Frequent ghost writing of news stories and analysis from stringer information and reports from the Caucasus and other correspondents dotted throughout Russia and the FSU.
• Providing analysis and insight on Russian foreign policy and international relations Kremlin domestic and economic policies national and international business financial and consumer trends.
• Extensively covered the South Caucasus travelling to Azerbaijan and Georgia leading coverage of breaking stories including war states of emergency and elections.

Oslo correspondent

• In a team of three covering everything from the stock market to energy to economics to foreign currency moves and politics.
• Highlights included analyses of economic data the Krona and government policy. Also interviews with top business leaders a Kurdish leader in exile in Copenhagen and coverage of the Danish cartoon crisis.

Almaty freelance correspondent

• Reported across Central Asia for London-based publications including The Economist Intelligence Unit The Times of London Petroleum Argus and Metal Bulletin.
• Sourced unique stories tracking down the competent parts and players often in remote locations across the region.
• The stories covered the full breadth of news from Central Asia Great Game diplomacy and business opportunities for foreign investors
