Science and Research is a vast subject, there are many fields where research can be done. And there are lots of methodologies used behind and scientific approach is given for each deliverables and results from the job. Below are the few possible questions and answers in Science and Research Department:

Science and Research Interview Questions:

What are the main educational backgrounds do you think one requires being a part of Science and Research Department?

Candidate should answer that any person who wants to pursue his/her career in Science and Research Department should had a solid knowledge on Scientific tools used and adapted, should be science research graduate student, or masters in science with any particular subject specialization, exposure to astronomy education research. PHD to his/her education background will be a bonus point

Who are your customers in this field?

Applicant should answer that being in this Science and Research industry, you cannot have any few set of customers, the whole world is you audience, anybody who are using that scientific method directly or indirectly are you customers. It can be future generation also, because you are giving something to the world from your research and making the existing process better or creating new things for the world to make people’s life better OR to create a new platform for various hidden studies in different fields for the next generation. So overall the whole world including him / her is the customers and audience of Science and Research group.

As a Scientific Researcher, what would be your main focus activities?

Applicant should answer that as a researcher I would focus mainly on creating a forum through mailing, calling people, seminars, teleconference, face to face meetings or any other medium for exchange of information on key areas of subject to start off. Identifying and prioritizing area of research that will significantly impact the results of the research. Promoting awareness and providing guidelines to the rest of the team for a proper planned research.

How would you organize a teleconference seminar, what are the activities involved in it?

Candidate should answer he/she would first organize a teleconference by mailing and calling people with the timing and schedule and then would make a list of confirmed speakers in the seminars, research topic based reading material, then would discuss few points like what are the implications by this project, who are the people who will be co-coordinating, discuss the few main points of research problems.

How frequently will you held meetings with your peers or team members for the successful completion of the project?

Candidate quickly should be able to answer that he/she will be holding meetings on every other week as needed, including calls for planning purposes, apart from the monthly conferences and quarterly seminars. A commitment is required from all its team members of that organization to attain all the meetings, conference calls and seminars and stay alert when work is in progress and all for all other related works.

What do you mean by Uniform change request? Explain?

Uniform change request basically means a request submitted to the concerned industry’s higher management for a new improvement suggestion. For example, If you would like to propose an improvement or any change to an existing uniform or for any existing policies in place, researcher should send a request form with concerned person’s signature on it. Make sure you include all the graphics and schematics you have developed for that change request with your detailed description.

What is the primary research and how would you conduct it?

Primary research involves collection of data about the given subject, analyzing it and comparing it to the real world scenario. Applicant should answer that he/she would conduct that by destining a plan for how to conduct the research, what are get started, ethics involved in the primary research. All these things can be done by continuous observations, surveys, interviews and analysis.

Before starting the topic, what are the things one needs to consider?

Applicant should answer that before starting the topic, he/she would consider the main few below points like:

  • What do I want to discover?
  • How do I plan to discover it basically what are the different types of research methodology are used?
  • What are the biases about this topic?

How do I ensure these biases are not reflected in my research project?

  • By when should I complete this research?
  • What do I expect to discover by this research?
  • How will I get the database for the research and how can I gain access to these groups and individuals?

What are the things you need to consider while reporting or submitting your research?

Applicant should answer that while he/she reports the entire results, should be sure of the accurate data and should represent only their actual observation and not any results from the survey or from any observation. Any observation, make sure to put it in the appropriate context.

How will you validate the data what you have collected?

Applicant should provide any illustrations which he has done in the past on analyzing his/her data correctly. Some participants in the survey may not take it serious and may provide silly, inaccurate answers. This most likely occurs with individuals who take surveys and this wrong information can throw off your research into a different direction. So it’s very important to examine the surveys and each and every answer from this erroneous information for any research. If you think any answer is very different and it’s highly questionable, then its better not to include that survey answer at all in your data for research.

What technique is used to measure a RNA molecule or the number of copies of a gene in human tissues?

Applicant, being a science graduate should be aware of PCR which is Polymerase Chain Reaction which can check and monitor the number of copies in a gene or RNA molecules in human tissues.

What are the limitation in blotting techniques and what is you suggestion for that?

Applicant should answer that the major limitation in blotting technique is the length of the time needed and          the fact that they can accommodate only one probe at a time. Using DNA microchip technology and fluorescence microscopy, the probes that are hybridized to fluorescent targets can be identified.
