Looking for a challenging position of the Youth Leader in the reputed company with a view to use my wide experience for the benefit of the organization.
Skills
- I am a qualified Senior Youth Worker with 18yrs experience, I currently work as a Team Leader for Targeted Youth Support Services, and have previous experience as a Youth Justice Worker, and Key Worker for an Intensive Family Intervention Project within a Community Safety Partnership.
- I have a good working knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, the Criminal Justice Act 1998. In addition to this I have excellent understanding of legislation that is currently changing youth work interventions for Connexions and Targetted Youth Work Strategies, and an interest in the emerging Citizenship, The Big Society;
- Bridging the Gap, Transforming Youth Work, Every Child Matters Every Youth Matters, Every Family Matters, the Respect Agenda, Aim Higher and the 10 Year Strategy for Youth.
- I have 8 years project management experience, where my duties included budget management, staff supervision and appraisal, strategic management.

- Theatre: directing and acting (directed two youth productions and three University productions; lead roles in several University plays)

Youth Leader Mother’s Union
Volunteer
- I have to arrange the youth meetings and events for the youth members of mothers union and non members of mothers union for the Croydon area.
- I also have to arrange the youth counselling sessions often conducted by the branch leader or the co-ordinating team.
- I also have to publicise and co-ordinate the youth events that are going to be held by the St Jude and Aiden parish church in conjunction with other churches as the branch leader is a St Jude and Aiden member.
2004 – 2006
Public health Improvement Project (with Global Volunteering Network (GVN))
Volunteer.
- I went to five rural areas of Uganda with six other volunteers a companied by one public health office.
- Here I carried out a couple of presentations on a number of topics i.e. one day I spoke to the community about STD’s their causes, preventions and treatment with focus particularly placed on HIV.
- I also conducted a presentation on healthy eating and living.
- I also spoke to them on aspects of proper sanitation, treatment of infections particularly the respiratory infections and on the prevention and treatment of other diseases like diarrhoea
2002 – 2004
Kampala International Hospital.
Volunteer
- I worked with doctors and carried out ward rounds with them where it involved taking out patient files from their bedsides and passing them to the Doctor for evaluation.
- Furthermore, I counselled HIV patients on the adherence of anti retroviral dosage prescribed to them and why it’s important that they adhere to the dosage regimen.
- I also talked to them on how to live healthy long lives and what they needed to do in order to achieve this.
- I additionally carried out a one to one verbal interaction with the bedridden patients asking them of any form of improvement in health when they started treatment each day in order to evaluate the effect of treatment.
- I finally assisted nurses in the making of a number of patient beds.
2001 – 2002

Data Co-ordinator
- Here I took part in the assessment of files (Case Report Forms) from a hypertensive clinical trial that had reached the volunteer’s last visit in the trial.
- In this role, I had to access these case report forms to find out whether they had any discrepancies.
- In other wards I had to find out whether the information in the CRF’s correlated with the information in both the doctor’s and nurse’s report.
- The adverse event section was also looked at to ensure that they were properly reported, if any had occurred.
- A file where discrepancies were reported had to be put aside and a Data Correction Form was filled in stating the areas were errors had been found.
- These files were then passed back to the doctor for further evaluation.
- Files with no errors were entered into the system database in the order of the file number and centre number where the trial was carried out.
2000 – 2001
Dental Surgery
Receptionist (Voluntary)
- I worked as a receptionist in my NHS’s Dental surgery.
- Here I scheduled and rescheduled patient appointments.
- However in absence of the dental nurse, I was asked to come in to the dentist operation room and assist him some of the root canal patients here my role was to pass him the equipment he required to use on the patient.
- In order to limit on the time spent while carrying out the procedure. I also had to ensure that I kept frightened and hyper children between the ages of 2-10yrs old calm.
- Furthermore, I arranged patient files in the order of how they were to be seen by the dentist that day.
- At the end of the day, I finally arranged all patient files alphabetically and placed them in the file storage room.
