MEDICAL RECORDS CLERK

- My duties included, assisting the Team Leader in running a busy clinical preparation department on a daily basis by working to strict guidelines, prioritise daily workload to ensure that all urgent matters are dealt with and liaise with Team Leader to ensure that everything is done in correct order.
- I also had to input and extract information via the Semahelix a Patient Document Tracker (PDT) computer system as required, locate patient casenotes by pulling from the medical records library as per the 7-day and 3-day outpatient clinic list.
- I was in telephone contact with other hospitals and GP surgeries to obtain all relevant information that may be required for casenotes and liaise with all levels of staff regarding patient files.
- This included collecting all letters and results from secretaries on a daily basis and file in readiness for future clinics.
- Prepare notes for clinical out-patient appointments ensuring that all results are mounted. Trace all medical records to appropriate clinics using Semahelix system.
