Transportation Management

  • Played a pivotal role in the management of all logistics and procurement activities for the Saudi Kayan petrochemical project in Saudi Arabia
  • Liaising extensively with external vendors to ensure that materials are prepared in accordance with specifications with the emphasis on minimising delays and additional costs for the site construction
  • Preparing tonnage estimates and shipping duration for the planned modes of transportation as well as arranging transportation for loads and shipments
  • Additionally arranging for special oversized loads, hazardous and complex international shipments by all modes of transport
  • Responsible for reviewing and assessing traffic related proposals including inland carriers, freight forwarders, export packers, charter shipments, ocean, air, freight rate agreements and custom brokers
  • Managing relationships with carriers, packers and shipping agents and undertaking expediting or tracing activities as required
  • Providing support and assistance to facilitate the resolution of carrier related insurance claims relating to overage, lost or damaged cargo
  • Fully accountable for Fluor’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations relating to transportation, import and export
