  • Initially employed to complete the final commissioning and hand over of the Medical Treatment Facility at Camp Bastion.
  • Moved onto the companies minor works department, oversaw a number of small contracts, and gained experience dealing with various customers and suppliers within the Kandahar environment.
  • Was re deployed to run the Mechanical Installation of the new Role 3 Medical Treatment Facility at Kandahar.
  • Produced the commissioning documentation, to the client’s approval.
  • Part of the commissioning team that completed the hospital and brought the hospital into active service.
  • At present I am the Facility Manager for the Role 3 MTF, running a team of 40 maintenance, housekeeping, admin and logistics staff in support of the hospital, dealing daily with the US Navy and NATO Maintenance Supply Agency.

  • HMS YORK Main propulsion Section, Department Leader, Marine Engineer Officer of the Watch: 1996-1998Supervised the Mechanical, Electrical maintenance and defect repair of the main propulsion system of a Type 42 Destroyer, which included 2 Olympus TM3B and 2 Tyne RM1C Rolls Royce Gas Turbine Engines and associated support systems Supervised and trained a five man shift that operated the Engineering plant, including all electrical power generation and distribution.
