- Responsible for the specification of new systems designed to support the Commission’s regulatory processes and the overview of the associated project management.
- Participating in the management of projects as the senior user representative ensuring good resource management and full communication on the projects involving users, internal information technology staff and external suppliers.
- Responsible for the development and introduction of key performance indicators to ensure that the Commission’s regulatory package for each regulated firm was properly implemented and performance managed against annual targets.
- Ensuring that supervisory procedures were maintained in an up to date state, consistent throughout the supervisory divisions including the examination package and risk model.
- I Maintained the Commission’s risk schedules in terms of estimated probability and impact. These were adopted by the Executive Directors and non executive Commissioners.
- Responding to internal audit on matters identified that related to the Commission’s internal controls over its supervisory function. I also advised the Supervision Divisions on what corrective action to take to correct issues.
- Monitoring performance targets and managing underperformance with the divisions concerned.
- I was asked to carry out the Operations role in the run up to the IMF visit in 2008. Various improvements were made to Supervisory systems and procedures prior to the arrival of the IMF and these assisted in obtaining the excellent report from the IMF.
