  • Successfully developed and implemented document control systems using MS Access, drastically reducing paperwork costs and time spent by key technical staff in time consuming admin and audit activities. This also led to fewer audit non conformances.
  • Set up and maintained a comprehensive computerized specification database for over 500 products and raw materials, which was linked to the Company’s supplier purchasing, formulations and traceability systems.
  • Co-ordinate and led, current and previous companies to BRC grade A and other third party audits.

Information Systems Officer

2008 to Present.

  • Responsibility for the collation and analysis of data from offices across, and the presentation of this data to local management and the national authority.
  • I designed various spreadsheets and databases to enable efficient and accurate transfer of data to the centre, which could then be used to populate the reports and information returns required by higher management.
  • This frequently involved visiting local offices to liaise with users on their responsibilities and requirements.
  • First-line support for the day-to-day problems encountered by users, ranging from resetting passwords and unlocking accounts, to amending wrongly recorded data. This required an in-depth understanding of the way in which the systems were set up to ensure that any adjustments were followed through to any dependent subsystems.
  • Liaison with the national computer support company for second-line maintenance of both hardware and software systems, having eliminated those difficulties that could be resolved in-house.
  • Project managing the introduction of new software including training the general population to use the new systems. This would include the writing of procedures to be followed to ensure consistent interpretation of the information to be recorded. Coaching staff in the use of various computer systems, particularly new starters.
