- Managed all security operations for Selfridges’ flagship store and head office on Oxford Street in London.
- Responsible for the overall physical protection and security of the building, including the retail floors, the concessions, the Head Office (protected the company’s information / intellectual property), plus the multi-million pound stock, located both on the retail floors and in the stock rooms.
- Oversaw a wide variety of alarm systems, CCTV and access control systems.
- Managed, supervised and motivated a team of 8 to 20 security staff, depending on the amount of building work, maintenance, design and development of retail areas, restocking, etc.
- Reviewed the existing security operations and was charged with reducing stock losses, which were running at unacceptably high levels.
- Successfully devised and developed new security strategies, policies and procedures for night-time operations, plus new costings and budgets.
- Defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to manage the various agencies that supplied the company with contract security staff at night (no SLA was in place).
- Improved compliance checks and developed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance of all security staff (no KPIs existed before).
