Experience
Monumental Games 2009-Present
Game Designer
- This was an industry placement, where I worked as a junior game designer on the MMO, Football Superstars.
- I started working on this game at the beginning of its beta testing phase through to its release and then on its patch updates.
- My main area was creating and maintaining the obstacle data for all the artefacts in the lifestyle environment.
- In this role I worked closely with the art department to get all work completed before deadlines. I would test all my work to make sure it was working in the intended manner.
- As a member of the design team I was responsible for fixing bugs in the game, writing documentation about different aspects of the game and tool tutorials.
- I trained others in the company on the tools I specialised in.
- The technology I used during my placement year was an internal-technology suite. The technology allowed the use of scripts, which were written in TCL, Tool Command Language.
- Builds on the project I was working on took many hours to be completed, but the scripts would work straight way.
- I wrote tool applications in C# for areas I discovered could be made more efficient.
BBC East Midlands Today
The Virtual Journalist 2006-2009
- This was volunteer work in which I worked in a group of 2 to build a studio in the virtual online world of Second Life.
- This was for a 3 part special about second life. We were given a time frame of a week, but managed to complete this within 4 days.
- The reporter was very happy with the project and that it was completed on time and to a high level of quality.
