2000 to Present.

  • Managing a team of 3 project engineers with high level engineering qualifications, 2 having obtained their masters degrees.
  • My role involves managing all the production and infrastructure projects at Harlesden London and reporting to the Site Engineering Manager
  • As part of the infrastructure works, a new ventilation system is required for the 10,000 square meter oven hall.
  • As part of the design I considered the energy requirements to run such a large system and came up with the idea of using canal feeder water from Brent reservoir, which runs under the factory.
  • To that end, I have negotiated with British Waterways and the environmental agency to use water from Brent reservoir for cooling the air.
  • This will significantly reduce energy consumption and the associated carbon emissions
  • The Harlesden site is the second largest biscuit manufacturing site and one of the largest snack producing sites in the world producing a combined total of over 100,000 tons of biscuits and snacks per year
