  • I am responsible for provision of strategic technical support to blue chip clients such as National Grid and United Utilities on complex project development opportunities arising in the energy from waste and wastewater sectors especially in the areas of anaerobic digestion, mechanical biological treatment, autoclaving and gasification; and developing concepts for the innovative utilisation of renewable gas in energy generation, grid injection and as a sustainable transport fuel.

2006-2009

Thames Water Utilities

Research Consultant

  • The plant will supply 150 million litres per day of clean water and will be the UK’s first major desalination treatment works taking brackish water from the tidal estuary of the river Thames. The objectives of the secondment were:
  • To provide confirmation and data validation in support of the risk assessments appropriate for the London Gateway Water Safety Plan;
  • To assess the proposed remineralisation treatment processes and blends, and to confirm the impact on water quality of supplying remineralised water to London’s distribution network and;
  • To demonstrate that the undertaken research underpins and supports the scientific principles on which the Water Safety Plans for the plant have been based.
