  • Successfully managed the design input for an order win of 340 metro cars from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd for a contract valued at 330m.
  • Due to the success of the project for London Over ground a subsequent 36m order was announced for an extra 36 cars which will be deployed to extend their existing fleet capacity.

Industrial Designer

  • This challenging role has increased and developed my range of skills and depth of knowledge & understanding.
  • Designs – From full product, to sub-assemblies, mouldings, metal parts and integration of structural soft goods.
  • Design & development – Design from concept to manufacture for styling, cost and usability. Sketching and foam modelling for initial ideas and as team communication tool for other designers/engineers in the UK and China. Frequent use of Photoshop with CAD models for presentation material.
  • Manufacture – Responsible for development of CAD models for manufacture with the China Engineers. A trip to China including on-the-job engineering has enabled a considered approach and increased my knowledge of production capabilities and factory environments.
  • Communication – Daily contact with teams in Hong Kong, mainland China and US, often requiring visual instructions, careful wording due to language constraints and use of video/telephone conferencing facilities.
  • Presentations – Highly professional standard for formal presentations, both of work-in-progress or finished projects; requiring CAD visuals, face-face presentations, prototypes and video conferencing.

Industrial Designer

  • Through the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience programme (IAESTE) I organised and undertook a 14 week internship in India.
  • During my time at Perfint Healthcare, an innovative medical devices company, I worked as an Industrial Designer on a number of projects focussing upon their flagship product ­ the PIGA robot.
  • Working with the in-house mechanical engineers, software engineers, customers and users, briefs were set from the management including:
