Personnel Consultant
- Handling a client base of 300+ small to large businesses including, manufacturing, construction, not for profit, blue chip organisations, these include both unionised and non – unionised workplaces.
- Being the dedicated consultant I deal with all the clients HR/Employee Relations and Strategic issues which require advice and guidance.
- I advise on complex employment issues, providing practical advice as well as advising on the legal position and risks involved in difficult situations, while taking into consideration the commercial implications for employers.
- I also advise on everyday Employee Relation issues and guide the employer through dispute resolution procedures.
- I am also involved in dealing with issues relating to TUPE, absence and performance management, Redundancy, Union Recognition and other wide ranging employment issues.
- Day to day, I am also responsible for training and coaching of client staff, up to board level, in all aspects of HR and Employment Law, delivering courses with a keen emphasis on the practical and commercial.
- This, in conjunction with my time as a dedicated adviser on the advice line, has given me an excellent knowledge of Employment Law and the ability to apply it practically, taking into account the commercial needs of the businesses, finding solutions which provide positive outcomes for the business while complying with current legislation and minimising the risk of expensive claims.
- Whilst working on the advice line I was responsible for supervising the less experienced members of the team and assisting them with the more complex issues which arose and authorising, where necessary, the dismissal of clients employees. I also led on recruitment of professional staff coming into the advice line.

- Working with a client base of 200+ individual businesses, from SME’s to large international, heavily unionised businesses.
- The role included providing bespoke Employee Handbooks, Policies and Contracts to suit the needs of the business, whilst taking into consideration current practice and legislative requirements.
- As the dedicated Consultant I would be the primary source of advice on complex issues, including grievance and disciplinary procedures and appeals within the dispute resolution process.
- Together with the above, I handled an Employment Tribunal Case Load for Respondents, dealing with high profile, complex claims, including unfair dismissal, employment status, Wages Act, Working Time Regulations, TUPE and Discrimination.
