Research Assistant

  • I was employed by the University of Wales as a voluntary research assistant within the Criminology department
  • My duties were to study data about crimes, arrests and convictions to learn about criminal actions and to suggest practical methods for controlling and rehabilitating criminals
  • Other data that was researched was the study of criminals themselves
  • Examining their personal histories to reveal incidents that may have influenced them, and what effects that arrest and convictions have on criminals
  • The data was then collated and a report was written
  • Whilst collecting this data I used research guidance, IT skills and one to one discussions with appropriate personnel

  • I was employed at the conference centre as a silver service waitress
  • My duties were to project a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service at functions including weddings and other corporate events
  • Serving their food in a professional manner and clearing away used dishes & cutlery from tables when customers are finished, clearing the floor of any rubbish as and when needed
  • Always treating and serving customers in a polite, friendly helpful manner and adhering to the companies’ health and safety policy
